Brief History of the Department:

                             SWRGDC for Girls, Kanchikacherla  established in the year2013. Since then it is the only prestigious Social Welfare Residential educational Institution for Girls in the Krishna District. From the beginning B.Com (Hons) course is available by the proceedings of the Commissionerate of collegiate education. Commerce course( General) was introduced at under graduate level in the year 2020 and also Commerce Course (Computer Applications) was in introduced in the year 2022. It gave the girl students an opportunities to join in the Girls college especially to those who belong to economically backward students , which provides job opportunities and technical knowledge to the students. Since the inception of commerce department in this college in 2013, it developed as a mega department of the college which provides 5 lecturers posts, the students occupancy rate is more than 70% of the total strength of the college. Every year Minimum 5 to 10 students pursing Higher Education by selecting through the PG common Entrance test.
